Jetzt ist es fix: Die UEFA verschiebt die ursprünglich in diesem Sommer (12. Juni bis 12. Juli) geplante paneuropäische Fußball-EM ins Jahr 2021. Das hat der europäische Fußball-Verband am Dienstag nach seiner wegen der Corona-Virus-Pandemie einberufenen Krisenkonferenz beschlossen. Demnach wird die kontinentale Endrunde nun erst im kommenden Jahr von 11. Juni bis 11. Juli über die Bühne gehen.
EM-Verschiebung: Nationale Ligen gewinnen Zeit
Den nationalen Ligen verschafft die Verschiebung der EURO 2020 dringend benötigte Zeit, um die derzeit ausgesetzte Fußball-Saison eventuell doch noch unter halbwegs regulären Umständen beenden zu können. Stichtag ist damit jetzt erst der 30. Juni, an dem auslaufende Verträge üblicherweise enden. (APA/red.)
